Movie v. book

In high school I read “Fahrenheit 451” by Ray Bradbury. In the 1960s the movie “Fahrenheit 451” came out, and we watched it after reading the book. The book is better simply because the time frame discussed in it, brings much different visualizations to mind than the movie.  The book was so futuristic, so it was odd to see the movie decked out in everything 60s. It made the concepts seem so old fashioned, and ultimately watered down the book for me.
